CARROT CAKE & L'AMANT (The Lover)
I am having a slice of homemade carrot cake
(baked using Philkraft pan)
with peppermint tea whilst watching
the movie entitled "L'Amant " (The Lover, 1929),
starring
Jane March and Tony Leung Ka Fai
and directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud.
The film is about the forbidden love about
a 17 year old French teenager
and a 32 year old wealthy Chinese man.
Whether they fell true love for each other or not,
despite the difference in age,
culture and status in life, is what makes this movie
worthwhile to watch.
“And
then he told her - he had told her that
he would never stop loving her,
that
he would love her until his death.”
